Jessica Gilbert was born and raised in Toronto Canada to a film-loving family. Her passion for storytelling grew with each Blockbuster visit and eventually brought her to York University’s film production program.

Jessica graduated with a BFA in 2013 and began freelancing, editing, and writing for ad agencies and YouTube channels. In between jobs, she found IATSE 873 and started working as a permit electric. Jessica became a member of 873 in 2018 and has enjoyed it ever since.
