The Jon Kaplan Legacy Fund Makes a Significant Contribution to The AFC
January 24, 2022 – Toronto
We are very grateful to the Jon Kaplan Legacy Fund for supporting Canadian artists with a $10,000 gift to The AFC.
“The Jon Kaplan Legacy Fund was created in 2018 to encourage and support theatre-makers,” says the fund’s President Don Cole. “In these challenging times, we are making a donation to The AFC, which has the team and infrastructure to get meaningful financial aid to individuals in the theatre community, along with mental health support and advocacy for artists in need.”
“We are very grateful for the contribution from the Jon Kaplan Legacy Fund especially now, when the fragile recovery of live theatre in Canada has suffered a significant setback due to the latest COVID variant,” says The AFC’s Executive Director David Hope. “We are honoured to be able to uphold Jon’s legacy of empathy, compassion and tremendous love for Canadian artists by providing them with financial assistance and other vital supports to help them maintain their health, dignity and ability to work.”
