“The AFC’s support enables artists and every single crew and production member to continue honing their skills and sharing their talents with audiences on all platforms of artistic endeavour”

– Pam Hyatt
Actor, Singer

I’ve called upon The AFC four times and each time they’ve answered the call. The first time was in 1980 when I ran into some hard times. The AFC paid my rent for a month, helping me and my two sons avoid eviction.

In 1993, I turned to The AFC again for urgent periodontal surgery on both the upper and lower sides of my mouth.  The AFC paid the whole amount! Eleven years later, I received help from The AFC for emergency dental work on my upper front teeth. The dental work allowed me to smile and articulate clearly – both actions a necessity for an actor and voice-over artist. Now, decades later, my gums are in good health, my teeth still strong.

The last time I received help from The AFC was in 2016 when I finally realized that it wasn’t others who talked too softly, it was my inability to hear voices that was causing some chaos in my life. The AFC helped me obtain quality hearing aids, which enable me to clearly hear what directors and fellow cast members are saying. No need to ask folks to project more clearly.

Since the hearing aids arrived, I’ve shot more films and TV shows in nine months than in years. I’m hearing everyone (except, of course, when alone I choose to remove the hearing aids and happily listen to the buzz of blessed silence).

I really hope that people who love the performing arts will make The AFC a high priority on their donations list. Their support enables artists and every single crew and production member to continue honing their skills and sharing their talents with audiences on all platforms of artistic endeavour.
