Survive and Thrive with Scott Elliott, CPA
January 15, 1-2 pm ET | 10-11 am PT on Zoom
Have you experienced an unexpected loss of income? Whether you’re actively seeking work, changing careers, or dealing with a sudden job loss, this workshop will help you navigate financial and emotional stress during your career transition and beyond.
This workshop will cover:
- staying grounded when dealing with mental stress during job search
- employment laws, contracts, and self-employment
- financing your life through Tax-Free Savings Accounts (TFSAs) and Registered Retirement Savings Plans (RRSPs)
- unlocking “locked in” pension accounts
- using debt management strategies to stay afloat
- tips for job search and employment options (not industry-specific)
Please note: this workshop is not specifically about the precarity of gig work in the entertainment industry. Still, it is likely to provide some helpful advice for the times when contracts are sparse. These workshops provide general information and do not offer personalized advice, so the facilitator may not be able to answer every question.
This workshop was developed by the Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada as part of their financial literacy education program.
Accessibility: closed captions and ASL interpretation. If you require additional accommodations to make this event accessible for you, please get in touch, and we will do our best to meet your needs.
