Somatic Tune-In with MD Bloch-Hansen
May: Blooming into Aliveness and Reconnection
May 26, 11 am – 12:30 pm ET | 8 – 9:30 am PT | Zoom
Overview
Connect and decompress through a guided somatic practice with MD Bloch-Hansen. Each session is shaped by the needs of the group, drawing on movement, stillness, reflection, expressive art, writing, breathwork, and visualization to support both body and mind.
Session Focus
May is the season of rebirth and expansion. Nature is in full expression, blossoming, buzzing, and greening.
After months of winter, our bodies naturally want to expand and play. This expansion can feel intense after prolonged slowness or heaviness, as longer days and rising temperatures bring more light, sound, and social energy. The nervous system may shift from low arousal (winter rest) to high arousal (spring activation). We may experience a spontaneous desire to create, connect, and explore. May invites us to bloom wisely and embody the aliveness of spring without losing our root.
We may explore practices that open the front body and breath, lengthen the spine, ground through the legs, and use movement, sound, and rhythm to release and channel energy.
Who Should Attend
Anyone seeking grounding or restoration through movement and body awareness and looking to add somatic resources to their self-care tool kit. No prior experience with somatic practice is required.
We encourage participants to join with an open mind and wear comfortable, non-constricting clothing.

Meet MD
MD (they/them) is a queer, gender-fluid, white settler of Italian and Danish descent, based in Tkaronto. They show up in the community as an integrative somatic therapist, performance artist, and doula. As a somatic careworker and registered social worker, they take a liberatory and justice-oriented approach that honours each person’s embodied wisdom and strengths.
In their private practice, MD offers holistic support for experiential and relational healing, weaving somatic practices, expressive arts, movement, and sound meditation, all grounded through a lens of cultural humility. MD also works as a gender affirming counsellor at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, supporting trans and gender diverse youth and their families navigating gender questioning and transition. MD enjoys supporting people in reconnecting with their bodies to find a sense of presence, steadiness, and creative expression as pathways toward resilience and a more livable future.
